Crypto News Today, November 7 | Bitcoin Flat at $76K, Extreme Fear, Jobs Report, ETF Outflows
Bitcoin held at about $76,100 on Saturday morning, flat over 24 hours. A strong October jobs report raised the odds of a Fed rate hike in December. Crypto hardly reacted, while chip stocks won back part of Thursday’s losses.
The Fear & Greed Index fell to 25, its first Extreme Fear reading since August. Bitcoin ETFs lost $430 million on Thursday. On Binance, 52 of the 58 withdrawal pairs named on Friday were open at our check. Ethereum mainnet withdrawals of ETH and USDT were back too.

Measured by CryptoNakta from Binance spot data at 02:13 UTC, Nov 7 (9:13 p.m. ET, Nov 6). The 24-hour window covers all of Friday’s U.S. session.
A day after the big drop, bitcoin barely moved. It sat at $76,100 at our check, flat over 24 hours. Ether gained 0.4%.
Trading was thin. We pulled every coin on Binance with more than $20 million in 24-hour volume against USDT. We left out stablecoins, gold tokens and stock tokens. Only 14 coins cleared that bar. On Thursday the same check found 22.
Just two of the 14 were down. XRP lost 3.4% and bitcoin slipped 0.06%. The biggest gain by far was Harmony (ONE), covered in the next story. Zcash (ZEC) rose 3.8% on $241 million in volume. Pepe (PEPE) added 2.4% and Hyperliquid (HYPE) 1.9%.
The whole crypto market is worth about $2.58 trillion, according to CoinGecko. That is 2.6% less than a day earlier. Bitcoin makes up 59.2% of it.
Harmony (ONE) jumps 69% with no confirmed reason
Harmony’s ONE token was up 69.3% over 24 hours at our check, at $0.001835. It traded $23.2 million on Binance in that time. A few minutes later, Binance’s own 24-hour data showed a high of $0.00197 and a low of $0.001082.
We could not find a confirmed reason. Coinfomania tracked the early part of the move on Friday and said no catalyst had been confirmed. We found no new post from the Harmony team that explains it.
There is older background. On Sept. 6, Harmony proposed shutting down its own blockchain, The Block reported. The plan is to give holders new ONE tokens on Ethereum at the same wallet addresses. No final date for that switch has been published in the reports we read.
On Binance, ONE deposits and withdrawals on the Harmony network showed as paused at our check. The notice said the network is having issues. ONE deposits on the Ethereum network showed as open.

The index fell to 25 on Saturday. That puts it in the “Extreme Fear” band for the first time since Aug. 6, based on the index’s own history.
The reading moved even though prices did not. Bitcoin was flat over the same 24 hours. The index also weighs things like price swings over the past weeks, trading volume and social media.
U.S. added 165,000 jobs in October, Fed hike odds rise to 79%
The U.S. added 165,000 jobs in October. Economists had expected far fewer. Bitcoin Magazine cited a forecast of 59,000, and CoinDesk cited 65,000.
Other parts of the report were strong too, per Bitcoin Magazine. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1% from 4.2%. Average hourly pay rose 0.4% for the month and 3.1% from a year earlier. August and September were revised up by a combined 84,000 jobs.
Strong hiring makes a Fed rate hike more likely. After the report, CME FedWatch showed about a 79% chance of a quarter-point hike on Dec. 9. It was about 70% before the open, Bitcoin Magazine reported.
Bitcoin hardly reacted. It briefly went above $76,100 after the 8:30 a.m. ET release. Then it settled near $75,800. October inflation (CPI) comes out on Nov. 10. The next jobs report is due Dec. 4.

Strategy was almost flat, at $128.93. Its stock has fallen about 9.5% since Wednesday’s close of $142.54.
Bitcoin ETFs lost $430 million Thursday, 2026 flows turn negative

Bitcoin ETF figures: TFTC tracker. Ether ETF figures: SoSoValue data via TokenPost. Friday’s numbers had not been posted when we checked at 02:20 UTC, Nov 7.
Thursday’s full numbers came in after our last issue. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs lost a net $430.2 million that day. Not one fund took in money.
Fidelity’s FBTC had the largest outflow at $199.9 million. BlackRock’s IBIT lost $105 million and Grayscale’s GBTC $49.9 million, per TFTC. From Monday through Thursday, the funds lost $869.8 million.
That week pushed bitcoin ETF flows for all of 2026 below zero. TFTC puts the year at about −$431 million and SoSoValue at about −$502 million, as reported by CryptoTicker. The two trackers count a few days slightly differently.
Spot ether ETFs lost $99.97 million on Thursday, according to SoSoValue. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for $75.2 million of that. The Block also counted small outflows from Solana, Zcash and Hyperliquid ETFs.
We compared an ETF with holding the coins yourself over a full year, fees and all. You can see the result in our ETF vs. bitcoin guide.
Bitcoin heads for a fifth straight weekly loss

CryptoNakta calculation from Binance BTC/USDT weekly candles, pulled at 02:15 UTC, Nov 7. The current week closes Sunday at 23:59 UTC.
Bitcoin has closed lower four weeks in a row on Binance. This week is down 2.9% so far, with two days left. A close below $78,354 on Sunday night would make it five.
Ether has the same streak. It is down 1.2% this week after four losing weeks.
Binance reopens 52 of 58 withdrawals, Ethereum mainnet ETH and USDT back
Binance’s Recovery Update #9 listed 58 withdrawal pairs to reopen from 04:00 UTC on Friday. Twelve minutes after the start, we found only 3 of them open. You can see that check in yesterday’s briefing.
We ran the same check at 02:19 UTC on Saturday. This time 52 of the 58 showed as open.
| Coin | Open at 02:19 UTC Nov 7 | Still closed |
|---|---|---|
| BTC | Bitcoin network, Ethereum, BSC | SegWit, Lightning |
| ETH | Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum, Base, BSC | Optimism, zkSync, Starknet and others |
| USDT | Ethereum, TRON, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, TON, BSC | NEAR, Aptos, Celo and others |
| USDC | Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Sui, BSC | Stellar, Hedera, Aptos and others |
| SOL | Solana, BSC | — |
| XRP | XRP Ledger, Ethereum, BSC | — |
Measured by CryptoNakta from Binance’s public network status data at 02:19 UTC, Nov 7.
The biggest change is Ethereum mainnet. Withdrawals of ETH, USDT and USDC on Ethereum were all off on Friday. At our Saturday check, all three showed as open.
Six of the 58 were still closed. Five were EUL and MMT on BSC, AXL on Base and Arbitrum, and U on TRON. The sixth was ETH on Optimism. It had shown as open in our Friday check.
So the network you pick still matters. If a withdrawal fails, check the network before you resend. Our wrong network guide shows what happens when the two sides do not match.
Binance had not posted a Recovery Update #10 by 02:19 UTC Saturday. On Nov. 4 it said the proof for its new 44-token reserve snapshot would take about 50 to 60 hours. After that, users could check that their own balances are backed at least 1:1.
PANews reported on Nov. 6 that the proof for Binance’s latest reserve report was live. It did not say which snapshot it meant. We found no Binance notice for the 44-token proof yet. Our proof-of-reserves guide shows how to run the check yourself. For how the withdrawal pause started, see our Binance hack guide.
Elliptic: $2.85 billion of the Binance theft frozen, $3.11 billion still in hacker wallets
Blockchain analysis firm Elliptic updated its tracking of the Binance theft on Friday. It counts $6.43 billion taken on Oct. 29 across 11 blockchains. More than half of that, $3.46 billion, was stablecoins.
Here is where the money stood, per Elliptic.
- Frozen or seized: $2.85 billion
- Still in wallets tied to the theft: about $3.11 billion, mostly ETH and BTC
- Stablecoins swapped before freezes hit: about $786 million
- Swapped into bitcoin so far: about 1,650 BTC, roughly $124 million
Elliptic said the hackers used more than 20,000 wallets on 16 blockchains. THORChain was a main route for turning other coins into bitcoin. Elliptic said very little has likely been cashed out so far.
On Thursday the FBI and two analysis firms tied the theft to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group. North Korea denies any role.
Washington drops plan to cut the crypto travel rule limit to $250
FinCEN and the Federal Reserve withdrew a 2020 proposal on crypto transfers, The Block reported on Friday.
The rule makes financial firms collect and pass along details on transfers above a set amount. The current line is $3,000. The proposal would have cut it to $250 for crypto. FinCEN said more than five years had passed and the crypto industry had changed.
Crypto groups welcomed the move. Coin Center had argued the lower limit would cover ordinary payments. Crypto Council for Innovation CEO Ji Hun Kim called it the “right call.”
The Block noted that Treasury withdrew separate proposed rules on self-hosted wallets and mixing in October.
Crypto in 401(k) plans: Labor Department rule goes to the White House
The Labor Department sent a proposed rule to the White House on Thursday, The Block reported. It would let 401(k) retirement plans hold alternative assets, including crypto.
The White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs reviews rules like this before they are published. No timeline was given. The proposal follows an executive order from President Trump on alternative assets in 401(k) plans.
Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren asked the department earlier this year to drop the rule. They said it would expose savers to volatile assets.
Tokenized stocks: 56 of 62 companies object to OKX and ICE plan
OKXICE is a venture of crypto exchange OKX and NYSE owner ICE. It plans round-the-clock trading of tokenized U.S. stocks, settled in stablecoins.
Companies can object when a third party tokenizes their shares without them. CoinDesk counted 56 objections from the 62 companies OKXICE first picked, about 90%. Apple, Meta and Palantir are among the latest.
A few names have not objected so far. They include Strategy, Coinbase, Circle and Robinhood. So the first list of tradable shares may lean heavily toward crypto companies.
